The Link Road car park in Great Missenden is set to close tomorrow (12/2) while resurfacing work takes place.
The car park is due to be shut all day, according to Chiltern District Council. The Bury Field car park opposite will remain open.
MOTORISTS will have to pay more for leaving their cars in council car parks as charges are set to increase.
Plans include charging more for the cost of one hour stays - from 50p to 60p. The cost of leaving a vehcile for two-hours will go up by 20p to £1.20, Chiltern District Council's Cabinet agreed yesterday. An 'upto three hours' band will also be introduced at the Civic Centre Car Park, in Amersham.
The changes to the tariffs at car parks controlled by Chiltern District Council, are due to take effect from April 1.
They would make an estimated additional £130,000 for the council, according to a report.
However a proposal to introduce a half an hour tariff, as seen in car parks in South Bucks district, was thrown out at the meeting.
The issue will come before the full council later this month.
FIREFIGHTERS are renewing safety advice to householders who have open fires after seeing an increase in the amount of chimney fires.
Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service attended 24 chimney blazes in December and 10 in the first three days of January.
They were called to a total of 159 across Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes last year. The figure has risen from 138 in 2008 and 97 in 2007. In the Chiltern distract 22 similar incidents were attended last year - up from 16 in 2008.

PLANS to build a children's centre in the heart of Great Missenden were dropped this week after criticism about its location from the village community.
Bucks County Council had applied to build a Sure Start Children's Centre next to Great Missenden CofE School, in Church Street, to work as a hub for youngsters from the village to Prestwood and even Chartridge.
Situated within a Conservation Area (CA), the proposed centre would of seen three members of staff employed and 24 parents and their children there at any one time.
A LANDSLIDE victory saw Great Missenden residents vote in Michael Colston for his second consecutive term as their representative on Bucks County Council.
Mr Colston (Con), 70, and father-of-two, won with 2,052 votes to Brenda Barker (Lib Dem) with 651 votes, Dennis Sluman (UKIP) with 320 votes, and Barbara Hunter (Lab) with 125 votes.
He was elected onto Great Missenden Parish Council in 2001, has lived in the village for 18 years, and has been serving as BCC cabinet member for Adult Social Care.
