Woman found dead in flat fire

A FIRE investigation has been launched after a woman died in a blaze.
Firefighters were called to a flat alight in Hazlemere last night, where they discovered a body.

Area manager Denis O'Driscoll from Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "On arrival they found a small fire in a first-floor bedroom and a female occupant nearby. Sadly she was pronounced dead at the scene."
Crews from High Wycombe and Beaconsfield were called to the end-of terrace house in Fallowfield at 6.09pm.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus put out the fire with a hose reel.
Officers from Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service and Thames Valley Police have begun an investigation into the cause of the fire.
Mr O'Driscoll added: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who has died at this difficult time."
