ELECTION RESULTS: Great Missenden

Posted by Greg Burns on Jun 5, 09 05:59 PM in Local Authority

A LANDSLIDE victory saw Great Missenden residents vote in Michael Colston for his second consecutive term as their representative on Bucks County Council.
Mr Colston (Con), 70, and father-of-two, won with 2,052 votes to Brenda Barker (Lib Dem) with 651 votes, Dennis Sluman (UKIP) with 320 votes, and Barbara Hunter (Lab) with 125 votes.
He was elected onto Great Missenden Parish Council in 2001, has lived in the village for 18 years, and has been serving as BCC cabinet member for Adult Social Care.

He said: "It is very rewarding to know you are so emphatically wanted and it is a great encouragement to me.
"I always have said that while I stay healthy then I will continue and I may be 70 but I feel 39!
"Great Missenden is a beautiful place but it has a lot of issues affecting it including traffic increases. I have always insisted that local issues are the ones that count and I will not be changing that philosophy at all."

We'd like to hear from you.
