Prestigious show for Prestwood garden designer

A PRESTWOOD garden designer is celebrating as one of her designs has been chosen for the Hampton Court Palace Show this summer.
Kathryn Hibberd, a student of the English Gardening School, in central London, has designed a 'Sanctuary Garden' as a place for teenagers to relax complete with tower, graffiti water feature, and artwork from Misbourne School students.

She said: "These days a lot of youngsters get a lot of bad press so I wanted to design something where they could go and relax and enjoy the peace and quiet."
Last year, Mrs Hibberd designed a night time garden for fellow Prestwood resident Alex Webb who suffers from Xeroderma Pigmentosum, a rare life-threatening condition that causes hypersensitivity to ultra-violet light.
She said: "The most rewarding thing is that, after the show, the garden will be re-sited to St Katherine's Parmoor, a Sue Ryder centre in Henley.
"It is where a lot of XP sufferers around the world go so hopefully they will be able to get some joy out of it."
Mrs Hibberd needs to raise sponsorship for the garden and has to show the judges she has the promise of sufficient funding.
