Scores of youngsters donned Dahl-type costumes and represented their very favourite characters, according to director Amelia Foster.
Top of the pops was the inimitable Willie Wonka, businessman par excellence, and lover of chocolate - and bubble gum.

But it was not all about Mr Dahl.
One teenager from the Misbourne arrived in the costume of Cobweb, a character from William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
"She had an absolutely fantastic costume, " said Ms.Foster. "A lot of work had been put in to get the desired effect, it was very impressive."
The director said a total of 125 youngsters and parents arrived at the museum, in the High Street, to celebrate the annual literary-based event.
The day previously a school had arrived from out of town and everyone was kitted out in the clothes of their favourite Dahl character, most impressive, according to Ms.Foster.
Elsewhere, pupils at Thomas Harding Junior School, in Fullers Hill, Chesham, dressed as characters from their favourite books to mark the event last Thursday.
The youngsters created their own bookmarks, jigsaws and tokens as part of a day of activities to raise awareness of the joys of reading.
Headteacher Glad Allen dressed as Captain Hook while her staff became pirates for the day. Mrs Allen said: "It was fabulous. All of the children came dressed as a character in a book of their choice. There was lots of variety. Some came as myths and legends, some from fairy stories, some children were dressed as characters from more contemporary books and others from classic tales."
