Great Missenden green month

Posted by Greg Burns on Feb 12, 09 03:32 PM in Local Authority

Parishioners in Great Missenden are putting the emphasis on the environment during what they have called a green month.
The activists, part of the environment group at the Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul, kicked off a month of activity with a talk by Diocesan Advisor Ian James at the Oldham Hall on Sunday, February 8.

Mr James spoke about the importance of the environment and the need to shop in the area and, where possible, to use produce sourced within the locality.
"We want the church to be at the forefront of green issues within the village, " said Hannah Gallant, a member of the environment group.
On Sunday, February 22, village based producers and shops will be invited to a special event at the Oldham Hall, from 11.30am to 2pm.
The special month also includes a walk to church initiative, on Sunday, February 15, when car owners will be encouraged to keep their vehicles in the garage, at least for one day.

We'd like to hear from you.
