A Little Missenden man is spending precious time running daily from Carnaby Street to leafy Bucks, a feat which takes him five and a half hours to achieve each time.
City headhunter Ed King is gearing up take part in the formidable Marathon des Sables event in Morocco at the end of March.
Mr King, 37, who works in Central London, is going to take part in the challenge along with business partner Guy Steel and the aim is to raise at least £20,000 for leukemia research.

The city high flyer has been piling on the miles in a bid to prepare for the super human event, which tests the durability of even the fittest competitor.
He (King) has even diligently prepared his own website and fans of the Little Missenden competitor can now read all about him at www.carnegiemds.com
The father of two said: "I have completed a couple of marathons and now I am hoping to progress further - it is a pinnacle of achievement and hopefully I will be able to raise some funds for a cause which has affected family and close friends.
"I have a very strong motivation to get on and achieve this. I will fly out to Africa on Sunday, March 29, and will be involved in the marathon until Saturday, April 4."
The 156 mile ultramarathon comprises several stages, the longest of which is 84 millimetres or 52 miles long. Competitors must carry all personal belongings and food for the entire event in their backpack. Water and tents are supplied by the organisers.
Two competitors have died in previous races. As of 2008, Laheen Ahansal from Morocco has won 10 titles, and his brother Mohammed Ahansai has won two titles.
