Return of sheep dipping
An ancient tradition of sheep dipping will be resurrected to celebrate the restoration of a pond.
But no real sheep will suffer the indignity of being dunked in Sheepwash Pond in Honor End Road - a replica one will be used by Prestwood Nature
The pond was used in the 18th and 19th century for washing sheep but has not been used for more than 100 years.
The pond became so overgrown that many people did not realise it was there but Prestwood Nature started restoring the pond in December 2007.
To mark the finish of the work, the ceremony will take place by the pond on January 24 at noon.
