Phil Vickery unveils new butchers

Gt-Mis-Phil-Vickery.jpgCelebrity chef Phil Vickery pulled in the punters when he turned up to open a new business venture on Saturday in Prestwood.
Mr Vickery, who lives in nearby Great Kingshill, did the honours when a new butchers shop, The Fine Meat Company, on the Wycombe Road, opened its doors to the paying public at the weekend.

The celebrity delighted villagers with his convivial conversation and genuine interest in the product, a fine array of traditional British meats.
Farmer-owner Polly Conroy, who farms at Little Kingshill, said all the meat at the shop is locally sourced. "For instance, our lamb comes from Wendover, " she said.
Mrs Conroy said she had been fired by a vision of how she wanted the new shop to look. "Basically, we have divided the shop in two.
"The first part will be a traditional butchers shop and the second will feature butchery and cookery displays, which will be advertised widely, " she said.
"Phil Vickery will feature in this. Phil and I have a joint venture, The Fine Pork Company, we feature rare breed pork and cured meats.
"We will also utilise the talents of other celebrity chefs like Mike Robinson, who specialises in wild food and game and Beverley Glock."
Manager at The Fine Meat Company, Mark Culloty (corr), said: "We provided sausages for the general public on Saturday and these all went down well. They included venison with juniper and pork and leek. Phil was munching away and afterwards he told me the sausages were very nice."
